Lady Wildcats defeat Karns on Senior Night

The Oak Ridge Lady Wildcat Volleyball Team finished their regular season play Wednesday with Senior Night at home against Karns. Oak Ridge celebrated their six Seniors with a 3-0 thrashing of the Lady Beavers. “What a blast tonight was,” exclaimed Oak Ridge Head Coach David Kolodney. “I took such joy in watching our seniors go out and do what they clearly love to do.” Kolodney started all six seniors and did not substitute once throughout the entire match. “I’m so fortunate to have gotten to coach these girls for four years,” Kolodney continued. “and to be able to end our regular season with all six of them playing every point is really very special.” Few teams have six seniors let alone six that can play the entire match and still secure the win. “I knew they would rise to the challenge, but I was still so pleased to watch them succeed the way they did,” Kolodney finished. “This is a special group and we need to get them the postseason result they all deserve.”

The Lady Wildcats finish the regular season with an unblemished 12-0 record, and will host the District tournament. Oak Ridge will receive a first round bye in the Tournament and will play Semifinal and Finals next Thursday (10/8). The Lady Wildcats improve to 17-3 on the season (12-0 District 4-AAA).
