The Oak Ridge Lady Wildcat Volleyball Team traveled to Karns for a District match Tuesday. The Lady ‘Cats jumped out fast in the first set on their way to a 3-set sweep of the Lady Beavers. “We got out to a great start after our four-day layoff,” said Oak Ridge Head Coach David Kolodney. “We were once again paced by great serving, but our passing let us down a bit in the second set.” Oak Ridge was hot behind the baseline throughout the night, delivering 17 Aces, dominating Karns in the first and third set. “We were able to fight through it in the second set to end in a respectable place,” Kolodney continued. The Lady Wildcats were led by Setter Piper Suddeth digging 10 Karns attacks and assisting on 18 Kills. Setter Paige Halcrow chipped in 13 of those Kills. “Karns did a great job keeping play alive and made us work for many of our kills,” Kolodney finished. “Something we need to improve on quickly with Heritage coming to town tomorrow.”
