The Oak Ridge Lady Wildcat Volleyball Team traveled to Maryville on Monday night losing to the Lady Rebels 1-3. “There are some matches where the scores don’t reflect what happened and there are others where they do,” said Oak Ridge Head Coach Dave Kolodney. “Tonight, the scores tell the story.” The Lady ‘Cats came out strong in the first set rolling to a 25-18 victory, only to come out in the second set putting themselves in a 1-8 deficit. “too many errors to start, but we stuck with it and worked back into the set,” continued Kolodney. “The last two we did the same thing, but weren’t able to turn it around.” The Lady Wildcats struggled from the Attack and defending the Attack in the later sets, including only 26 Kills with 23 Errors for the Lady ‘Cats. Oak Ridge also set a new high mark for Dig Errors in a Match (39). “We knew going into this, it would be a tight match and it was,” Kolodney finished. “We’ll take this loss, learn from it, and come back stronger the next time around.”
The Lady Wildcats have two more road matches this week travelling to Powell on Tuesday night and to Bearden on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats fall to 12-2 on the season (8-0 District 4-AAA).
