The Oak Ridge High School Lady Wildcats are through the first half of the season undefeated in district matches. They have shown great versatility in several different line-ups and Alex Shanafield showed off a powerful serve tonight. Head Coach Dave Kolodney is proud of the performance so far. He says "This was a good match after a 4 day layoff for the holiday weekend. I thought we looked rested and ready to go and it showed in all facets of the game. We passed well tonight which led to solid play at the net – any time we can get a good pass it means we’re set up to be able to do what we want after that. We also served very well tonight which let us go on several sustained runs all while limiting theirs. It’s good to finish the first half undefeated but obviously now everyone is coming for us at the top so we need to carry this energy and effort through the second half."
Player of the Match: Alex Shanafield – Super strong serving night for Alex – she served with a tempo and a pace that I haven’t seen her do consistently this season and the results speak for themselves.
